Concrete Drying Course
July 18th – July 20th, 2007
John Schaefer ( Production Manager ) attended the Concrete Drying Course at Boldens in Cicero, IN. This class was developed to begin analysis the drying process of concrete. The flooring, adhesive, concrete and restoration industry have determined a need for the proper drying methods of concrete. The initial class was developed in accordance with the requests of the participating manufacturers to determine the various ways a concrete slab of existing concrete may be dried. Along with the main class theme, Peter Craig ( pcfloors.com ), a concrete consultant from Concrete Constructives, performed a separate study on 4 newly poured slabs of concrete. His study used only one type of drying method in an effort to determine the effectiveness of using a vapor barrier on the concrete for the newly poured concrete.
The class was developed to help solve a multi-billion dollar flooring failure problem for builders, developers, insurance companies and the flooring industry.
