This 2 hour course will have participants exploring the prevalence of mold and how it impacts insurance claims. You will review and differentiate between the most widespread types of mold and their respective health implications. Participants will also identify the factors that impact mold growth and the rate at which it grows and spreads. Emphasis will be placed on the study of the IICRC S520 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation. Participants will list the various materials that foster mold growth to ascertain the best cleaning methods. Additionally, you will review prevention tips that will help minimize the presence and growth of mold. You will discuss and analyze the health effects of mold. This discussion will cover the Mycotoxins and the Environmental Protection Agency status on mold health hazards and how mold and mold spores foster and transfer. A review of real-life case studies will be examine to outline techniques, equipment and processes.
